The AES+F Artist Residency Award was created in
2020 to give an opportunity to Russian speaking artists, who are at a pivotal stage of their careers, to become immersed in the New York art world as a resident of the
International Studio and Curatorial Program and to join the global alumni network of the prestigious residency program. Since 2022, as a sign of solidarity, the Residency Award is also offered to Ukrainian artists.
Due to their own experience,
AES+F artist collective based in New York and Berlin understands the importance of international connections for career development and see the tragic lack of opportunities
for Russian artists, as well as their underrepresentation
in the United States especially. The program aims to emphasize the importance of the mission to support the voices of the new generation of artists from the region.
